Meet Our President
John Bakarich III
John is a devoted husband to Melanie, celebrating 26 years of marriage, and a proud father to three sons—Jack & Dane, his 17-year-old twins, and Dax, the 13-year-old adventurer. Passionate about the great outdoors, John revels in hunting, fishing, and tee times on the green, as well as mastering the grill for the perfect BBQ.
A native of Kansas City, Kansas, John’s local roots run deep. He’s a Kansas State University alumnus with a BS in Construction Science and Management, setting the foundation for his rise from Project Manager to Director of Operations—a trajectory that ignited his entrepreneurial spirit and led to the founding of Baron Contracting in 2006. With a vision steeped in service and unmatched quality, John’s leadership has cemented Baron’s status as a premier ‘Class A’ Commercial General Contractor, building a legacy of excellence that resonates as loudly today as it did at the company’s inception.
His commitment to community shines through years of active involvement and board memberships in pivotal local non-profits, including The American Red Cross and the YMCA, and he’s a dynamic contributor to the Kansas City’s Entrepreneurs’ Organization. In 2014, John and Melanie founded Train It Forward, reflecting their dedication to enhancing water safety and life-saving skills across Kansas City through accessible and engaging initiatives.
An advocate for education, John’s election as Piper USD 203 Board of Education President sees him applying his depth of professional acumen to the noble cause of shaping learning environments. Whether through building infrastructures or communities, John’s legacy is characterized by a relentless drive toward nurturing safe, strong, and skillful tomorrows.
